Broome Groyne

Case Study
WA Limestone successfully completed the Broome Town Beach Groyne Upgrade in April 2020, transforming the aging structure as part of a broader development of the Town Beach precinct.

Broome Groyne

The project addressed unique challenges, including tidal fluctuations, soft clays, and site debris. WA Limestone employed innovative methods such as reusing concrete rubble for the filter rock layer and carefully sequencing construction to align with tidal cycles.

These efforts minimised disruptions and ensured uninterrupted progress. Despite environmental delays, the team completed the groyne two weeks ahead of schedule, demonstrating exceptional planning and adaptability. Advanced techniques, including precise placement of armor rock and pile sleeves for future jetty integration, ensured a durable and aesthetically pleasing outcome.

The project earned widespread acclaim from the local community and stakeholders, showcasing WA Limestone’s expertise in balancing technical precision, environmental sensitivity, and community engagement in complex marine infrastructure projects
