Esperance Port
Case Study
In a joint venture with Italia Stone Group, WA Limestone undertook a comprehensive redevelopment of the Esperance Port over a two-year period in 2000, delivering substantial infrastructure enhancements for the Esperance Port Authority.
Esperance Port Development
The project involved the supply and placement of over 600,000 tonnes of armour rock and 200,000 tonnes of core material, essential for constructing robust breakwaters and reinforcing port structures. These improvements were crucial in accommodating larger vessels and increasing the port’s capacity.
The redevelopment has significantly bolstered the port’s role in facilitating regional trade, particularly in exporting commodities such as iron ore, nickel, and grain, thereby contributing to the economic growth of Western Australia’s Goldfields-Esperance region
