As part of the Southern Gateway Alliance (Leighton Contractors, WA Limestone and GHD) WA Limestone was responsible for the excavation, haulage and placement of almost 15 million tonnes of raw materials.
Perth – Bunbury Highway Development
The project included the construction of 71 kilometres of dual carriageway, including 19 bridges, 6 interchanges, 32 shared paths and 21 kilometres of noise walls.
At its peak, the haulage fleet comprised 140 semi-tippers – the largest highway trucking fleet ever assembled in Australia at the time. The project was completed 4 months ahead of schedule and under budget.
